20.11.2017

We are moving to Mata Mata.
The path is not long and I'm still hoping to find Cheetahs, so it can take a long time to cover the +/- 100km.

At dawn, as usual, I look at the waterhole … O\/ . I go in a hurry take my camera. Liz hears me, I whisper "Leopard". 15 minutes…. 15 long minutes, time to drink and go back on our left side, in the dunes ... magical vision O/\ O/\ O/\

She is beautiful, it is "Auchterlonie female", name given by Margie and Gus Mills when they started to deal with "Leopard & Cheetahs of the Kgalagadi" see LINK:

https://www.facebook.com/KgalagadiLeopa ... ialog .

They went back to England and Matthiew, Wanda, Mel took over and me to a lesser extent .... a question of language I think, or rather I hope :-?
I had a lot of correspondence with Margie and I met her in the park. We follow them, note their movements, births and the first who saw babies gives them a name. I have already baptized some, the best known is Safran, the Leopardess and I'm not lucky to find her (she) for several years.

A leopard in the Kieliekrankie surroundings is something very special.
The Auchterlonie Female looks beautiful against the red sand O:V
Hopefully she's still alive and well these days 0/0

I never knew that Gus and Margie also dabbled in the the leopards once.
Thanks for that info \O

It was a great sighting \O Luckily Nan called me! I was half-naked and freezing, but in a moment like that it is not that important lol
