Timon was again in his element and was taking picture after picture

Image

and for me it was once more very difficult to choose the best so hopefully you did not get bored.

Image

We were the only people in the hide and had a great time especially with that quite full dam and the splashing hippos and afterwards it was time for a nap time for them

Image

Image

but obviously the sunbathing crocodile had enough from the splashing and made itself scarce.

Image

After a very entertaining time we even drove to the causeway and there we spotted another malachite kingfisher against the sun

Image

and a woodland kingfisher but as nothing else was around we returned to the S41 as we simply wanted to drive same once again and there we came across a blind snake

Image

also a first for us and the only snake we only spotted during that trip besides the one the secretary bird caught.

Image

At one of the many causeways we crossed we stopped for another grey heron,

further down we met another steenbok lady in the high grass

Image

and also in the high grass a ground hornbill family was busy with the collection business

Image

Image

and in between one of them looked very flirty

Image

and although the grass was really high we had good visibility on same and were having a great time watching them.

Image

Image

Overall we simply enjoyed a last ride on one of our favoured roads in that area during this trip for sure benefitted by that marvellous sunny weather as everything looked totally different compared to the rainy weather we experienced the days before. The same opinion were obviously also the resting waterbucks we then discovered as they were totally relaxed

Image

the ladies as well as the boss

Image

and to our delight we even noticed a Namaqua dove also a bird we do not see that often but when then really in this area of the park most.

Image

to be continued……
