Great footage!
The lions don't mind...if it is injured enough they may polish it off later?

Re: African Buffalo
Spoke to Dr de Vos the other day and he said an interesting thing:
Buffalo were originally confined to the SOUTHERN section of Kruger, and only made their way up north gradually, with some possibly coming in from Moz and Zim.

Re: African Buffalo
RP, you quote Dr. De Vos mentioning the absence of buffalo in northern KNP during the early days.
That is understandable as that part of KNP was added some years later than the establishment of the Sabi GR.
(Which in it self allowed grazing rights to farmers for some twenty or thirty years before suspending this practise.)
The northern parts of the Transvaal lowveld was used as winter grazing and the farmers made the most of their time winter grazing their cattle by hunting.
So, naturaly prime hunting species would have become scarce. Also, bovid populations will still have been recovering from the rinder pest.

Yebo, 100P!
It is an interesting transposition regarding the elephant, who mostly came in from Mozambique from north of the Nwanetsi right up to the top!

Kruger Sightings
@LatestKruger
December 2019.
Buffaloes Outside Lower Sabie.
What a sight as they joined forces to cross the river together.
The sounds were even more amazing.
