SANParks has noted with concern the abuse of technology mostly by some independent Open Safari Vehicle guides to communicate sightings to each other and speed to those sightings. This is causing congestion and could lead to unnecessary confrontations with other tourists. Speeding is a big problem and we have seen terrible incidents in the past year which could have been avoided. Animals have the right of way anywhere in the park and drivers need to be extra cautious in the bush. Our officials can't be everywhere to do law enforcement and we implore members of the public who notice any wrongdoing, to report it to our nearest gate or official with clear details for SANParks to follow up.
Please plan your trip carefully considering closing times and distance so as to arrive alive and in time. Fines will be administered to those arriving late for exit or entry.
Drivers and tourists should be held accountable for their actions. Kindly go through the guidance on your entry permit to enjoy your holiday. Those who have been behaving, thank you for making our task easy. If you are counted among the rule breakers, be careful because the consequences of your actions might catch up with you sooner or later.

Re: Open Safari Vehicles in Kruger
When somebody has to release declarations like the above, concerning a wildlife reserve there is something that does not work. Too many visitors (cars)? Too many OSVs? Too little control? or something else?

Re: Open Safari Vehicles in Kruger
This is just childish again. There has been a 20-year fight about OSV operators using radios, which is against the rules. This is very easy to enforce...duh!
Now, because the cheerleaders are waging war on latestsightings, they are trying to respond to the obvious weakness in that war which is the similar use of "technology" by OSVs. (OSVs use whatsapp groups too)

It is unusual to find a bull with his family, normally they are stressed as they want to mount the female. In this case the nearer osv should not have approached at all.
However the rhino are pretty dumb and can stand there for hours...

Those OSVs are too daring! Even a child can see that the rhinos are angry. They are out in the open and can easily be watched from a certain distance. Every time the second OSV goes ahead and then back again the rhino gets angrier. It looks as if they are teasing them just to show off in front of their guests
