Lake Panic Hide continued..

There were quite a number of birds coming, going or changing position, but the cormorants did not move an inch while I was there

Another smaller darter was almost hidden among the leaves





It is most likely the one from last time with the strange colours. This time the quality is better though



Unfortunately no sun



Suddenly my eye caught a movement...A Squacco Heron! A first for me

Seeing the small darter from behind it looks more normal







Something passed like lightning , a green-backed heron. It must have been my lucky day







The squacco was still there and so was the small darter

I have never heard of a squacco darter before

[Lisbeth]

All was calm for a moment and this was when I discovered the third darter, quite small, down at the end











It looked as if I had lost the dive of the big darter, because it was wet and shiny, but you cannot be everywhere and jump about the hide, especially with all those mega lenses



I have forgotten to mention the turtles



Their song had been heard for quite some time and finally they turned up in all their beauty.....The Woodland Kingfishers

The weavers are always around, but usually close to their nest or crossing past you at top speed I caught this one off guard



In the meantime, the small darter had taken a dive and came up with a nice catch. Of course the pics are terrible as it all happened so quickly
