another pair of saddle billed stork – it took such a long time during this trip until we got to see our first pair of this bird species and luckily along that river so many of them followed

a quite great number of crocodiles could be seen crowded close to the causeway were the water was still heavily overflowing.

We turned around as another car was approaching but same did not dare to cross the causeway so we again took up the causeway

Once again we had to drag ourselves away as we had such a joy in watching the activity at that causeway but meanwhile it was time to check in and we needed a break so we entered the camp via the back entrance but simply had to stop for a group of impalas

Check in went as always smooth and fast and we got again the keys to No. B70 as requested for and as we were a bit tired from the long drive we made a longer break in camp after everything had been stored away. Timon discovered a monitor who purposefully walked straight to a tree, climbed same and

as they made a loud spectacle we were simply fascinated by the monitor’s skills and for sure felt extreme sorry for the birds.

As we do not want to drive that far for our afternoon’s drive we simply paid a small visit along the S52 and also stopped here at the causeway

Ja, that S50 is an incredibly long drive.

Those monitors seem to be common in Shingwedzi...since I was a boy!

Shingwedzi and Letaba are the favourite places of the storks of all kinds I still haven't seen a stork yet, nor a big heron There are also more birds in the north it seems to me or maybe it is just not my year
