lots of ellies and buffaloes and even wild dogs ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Again these beautiful flowers and pity to see Lake Panic that way :-(
Yes was surprisingly dry but there was allot of green around I think we must have been there on the cusp of the change between winter and summer .
Lisbeth wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 10:28 am Nice visitors ;-) O/\ O/\

Much better doggies than lions \O

The front buffalo has quite a large pair of horns

At least you had something nice to do while waiting for the road to clear ;-)
 Definitely a mega buff in charge ...
Richprins wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 5:49 pm Excellent all round, Rog! ^Q^

Is that an impala they caught..looks like it? -O-

I like the ellie with the secreting temple gland too! ..0..

Interesting you avoid the traffic jam... O:V
We could not quite make out if it was a young Impala or a reedbuck -O-

Always avoid traffic jams when we can 0: O/ better for the blood pressure to not get involved with 1Dt10t5 lol

The following morning we were up earlier and arrived at the gate as the guard opened up .There was no car in front and we dropped off the keys and headed out to out new favorite dam .

Oh look the Vultures are still here must be still cleaning up from the dogs ...
Image

Oh look its a hyena what is it carrying -O-

Image

Hmm not a buck leg .The vultures were cleaning up a spot and these two checked each other out .
Image

Something had taken down a Buff during the night and the hyena had got a leg for breakfast .
Image

We left to drive to the next dam for the morning as the plan was to do some dam hopping then go to the meeting in Hazeyview .

Not too far from the dam we found the Doggies again ... what a great start to the day
Image

Image

They were running along the road following scents and we followed for a few Km before being joined by another vehicle .
Image

every now and then they would leave the road to check for a scent marking
Image

By this time the morning drive had caught up and the vehicle that joined actually came up next to us and asked if we mind if they pass as they had a long trip ahead .What courteous people ... the morning drive also went past then turned arround as they had run out of time and we were left alone with the pack again O:V

My favorite pic from the encounter ..
Image

Eventually they ran off the road and headed deep into the bush what a great sighting O/\

Image

We cut across the S11 and took a pic of the plaque
Image

There was not much to see and we carried on towards transport dam .Meeting a young hornbill
Image

After a few more km's oh no a traffic jam what could it be Lions , Leopard .. no more doggies
Image

Ok not getting too involved did a drive by shooting and carried on .

The rest of the morning was quieter .We made our way towards Phabeni and saw some big ellies playing push me push you ...

Image

Some stunning scenery
Image

We found this little one sneaking across the road and it was not happy to be spotted
Image

Image

A bit further on we found another small resident.

Image

And then as we turned onto the tar towards the gate we found another little one in the middle of the road so we escorted it across the road as it was not crossing in a good spot or quickly ..
Image

We exited at the gate and went to the meeting then drove around from Hazeyview to Orpen later on in the day ...
