The sun was now setting fast and the light was weakening. This young Impala was tolerating a juvenile Oxpecker on its head...
The Go-away birds catching the last of the days light...
Out on drive this morning, a juvenile Ayres's Hawk Eagle in the distance...
Another Steenbok had no problem posing for a portrait...
Last ones coming up soon...

Last ones for today.
Watching these two Elephants reminded me of that old African proverb, "When Elephants fight, it's the grass that loses..."
A Wildebeest enjoying the abundance of food...
A Zebra foal enjoying moms milk...
Back at home, another youngster enjoying moms milk on the lawn, this time an Impala... Until next time, from the banks of the Olifants...

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
I have tried a way to make it pass as an African hawk-eagle, but I do not have enough criteria this time

Good one, if it is the Ayres', but it might be a Wahlberg's or a juvenile of some sorts of other Fish, Martial, Booted eagle
Love the impalas![Love [Luv]](./images/smilies/icon_cuinlove.gif)

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve

From one extreme last weekend, to the other extreme this weekend, when it comes to weather.

Yesterday morning my one neighbour informed me that the Lions were on his property again, trying to catch Waterbuck. I waited until late afternoon and then went to try and find them. I found the Waterbuck, but no Lions to be seen.
Here are some of the Waterbuck...
Not much else to see, so I took a long distance shot of a European Bee-eater...
Next up, on drive this morning...

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
Before I start with my morning drive, one more pic from yesterday.
While I was lighting my braai fire, I noticed a breeding herd moving past in the distance...
More rain last night and Lions, Hyaena and Leopard calling all night. I thought I'm in for a busy drive, but, no...it was not very active.
A Natal Spurfowl keeping off the ground to stay dry...
Lesser Grey Shrike...
This Impala was flat, trying to keep out of the wind...
More coming soon...

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
There are still lots of wild flowers in bloom. I don't know what type they are...
Jackals were all over the roads, the only dry place where they could lie down...
A Burchell's Coucal trying to dry its feathers...
Lastly, another wild flower...
Until next time...
