Meanwhile we spent already more than 45 minutes with them and after Timon took pictures from nearly each angle



we decided it was time to carry on but indeed this was a sighting which we will never forget



but the next one was not that bad either as in the beginning we only noticed some very nervous impalas who obviously fixed the masses of close by zebras as well in looking around very alerted and we even found the reason – a group of wild dogs! Unfortunately they were running around quickly so we only got this single shot as the others only came out blurred – but wild dogs are wild dogs!



Far too soon the wild dogs vanished and although we waited a while they did not come back but meanwhile the VW T2 caught up with us and we started to chat a bit and we showed them our wild dog shot and they told us that we just missed a leopard if we simply stayed a bit longer at the pelicans they were friendly enough to drove back together with us to show us the place were the leopard might still hang around and whilst they drove back to maybe find the wild dogs we looked a bit around but no leopard showed up so we continued our drive and stopped for a group of waterbucks in the Shingwedzi river.



Meanwhile the VW T2 overtook us and we waved our good byes to them and continued and it got a bit quiet until we met again our friends in the VW T2 parking on the road side and what to say although the wild dogs ran into the other direction we discovered them now here again and even a bit much more relaxed.



Needless to say that we immediately parked as well on the road side and started to look around



and simply enjoyed that sighting as most of the wild dogs laid down we had enough time to take pictures



of the active ones



who went from one side to the other



to check out the more inactive ones.

It was in fact a large pack and they were spread all over the place



so we as well as the family in the T2 had enough time to look around and take shot after shot.



Either close ups or wild dogs in a flowerbed



whilst some of the wild dogs decided to look for a better place to take a rest





they might have infected some of the others as well and we originally thought they might start to ran away



they made up their mind



and stayed at that place so we were allowed to enjoy their presence a bit longer.

We were so happy that we finally met them also during that trip

It was such a wonderful sighting and even a big surprise

Wow what a day so far with the pelicans and now the wild dogs





who now relaxed again more and more and so we were still allowed to photograph them.



We in fact could not believe our luck as we originally thought we might would miss them this year only to found them in such a great number now in the far North.





I maybe repeat myself but the North is definitely not quiet with really lovely surprises in store – We noticed their different colours some were light brown, others darker and some nearly black



and some of them enjoyed their break from running around as well very much.



The whole time we stayed at this sighting we and the T2 were the only cars and we could not resist in photographing more close ups



whilst they were resting.



Also the flowerbeds must have been a favourite place of them as many of them relaxed there

until it was then time for them to carry on with their hunting and suddenly all of them stood up and carried on their way and so we did together with the T2.



Not far from the place where the wild dogs disappeared in the bush suddenly a lone hyena came up from the riverbed and crossed the road only to disappear as well in the dense vegetation.



We still had to cross a couple of causeways and to drive some loops and for sure the views were always stunning



whilst we simply had to stop to photograph our beloved white fronted bee eaters



we again waved a good bye to the passengers in the T2





and we were happy about the day so far and still could not believe our luck.





Meanwhile we also reached the Bateleur causeway close to the turn off to the same camp and to Tshange look out



and again also the crocodiles were hanging around this causeway as well



they in fact could be seen nearly everywhere



and also one of the normally present green backed herons could not be overlooked.

The White-fronted Bee-eaters are beautiful.

The causeways are always places for loveliness, be it animals or scenery
