Once again, thanks for all the kind comments. \O

Todays first batch of photos are the height of laziness when it comes to bird photography. All of these pics were taken while sitting on my couch, I didn't lift my ass to take one of them... :o0ps:

First up is an African Hawk Eagle keeping an eye on me...

Out on drive this morning, I couldn't believe my luck. The first sighting was, yes Lions again. When I saw them they went flat and I had to wait almost an hour for them to move. All they did was move into the shade as it was already getting hot early this morning. There was never a clear visual of them and this is about the best I could do...

Further along, I got this cool looking insect. Not sure what it is exactly, but it was quite large...

The funny insect must be a kind of mantis -O-

Birds like that sitting on your couch :-0 :-0 O\/ O\/

You still have woodlands and I saw the first swallows yesterday \O We have a saying: One swallow does not bring springtime (in Italian it rhymes ;-) )
In fact, it is freezing cold for spring......now. 10 days ago we had summer temperatures 0- 0*\

Cool couch birding! The young lizard is actually much more elegant than the adults :-0

The insect is a predatory bush katydid, Peringueyella cf rentzi. Note the distinct modifications of his front and middle legs, which are very long and equipped with sharp spines to facilitate grasping and holding his prey.
