There is a bit of everything. Is the black "thing" at the beginning a melanistic Springbok
And what is this one:
a Hare or something more exciting?

Certain game farms do breed black Springbok/Impala, they fetch more money. Whether it occurs in nature without interference I have no idea, same with the pure white ones, plenty around Northern Cape areas, plenty of arguments from either side. The other one is a Scrub Hare, they do not burrow but live their lives under bushes coming out to feed and drink.
Some years ago we stayed at a Park in the Dinokeng (much promoted) reserve outside Pretoria. The game farm next to the campsite lost?? their black
Impala ram (breeding) he was worth R350 000.00 then (2014). They found him, he had found nicer lady friends!!!!! than they provided.

No really hot like KTP, average day time 20degrees C early a.m. to between 30-35 degrees later in the day. Elevation varies 1170m to 1380m, so gentle slopes.
We did see more game than the photo's show, but most of it was too far out of camera range, made a change from the usual SANparks, but not for long term stays, our 5 nights was enough.
