Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium are now gathering around a historic investment in offshore wind turbines in the North Sea, which will help to free Europe from Russian energy and lift the green transition in Europe to a whole new level.
This takes place at a large summit in Esbjerg on Wednesday, where Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and the heads of government from the three countries sign a historic declaration to increase tenfold offshore wind capacity in the North Sea to at least 150 gigawatts (GW) in 2050. It is enough to supply approx. . 230 million European households with green electricity and will require total investments of over $141 billion.
