Interesting stuff, Pumbaa! \O

I love how the stork stands on one leg! :-0

And a giraffe and baboon combo! [O]

Nice how you stop for the "lesser" sightings like the saddlebill, one gets rewarded anyway, as you did!

but also this road has got its preference as we reached Mazithi dam which was brimful and after all the rain with water everywhere also not such a good choice but normally at such dams is always something to be seen and so it was here with another little grebe, weavers busy in refurbishing their nests

Image

whereas must say that most of the sightings were a bit far away here but we spotted grey herons, carmine bee eaters,

Image

and whilst we already continued a European roller landed. Luckily Kumana dam was also not far and here we soon discovered Egyptian goose

Image

whilst also here all the other sightings where a bit too far away such as a group of ground hornbills. After a while we carried on and came across a couple of very well hidden elephants

Image

and had the pleasure in taking a longer break in front of a bush watching the come and go from a lot of Carmine bee eaters

Image

Image

who were busy in catching insects

Image

Image

and sometimes they were even successful.

Image

We were happy in stopping again for dung beetles

Image

and even got the glimpse of two cheetahs a bit too far away as the air was already flickering

Image

at least we saw some and took only a couple of proof shots. A pity that they were so far away.

Luckily the two steenbokkies who came across next were extreme close and not that shy so we stayed with them for a while

Image

Image

as they allowed us so willingly to take that many pictures.

Image

Image

That area was now extreme open and the grass not that high and so a lot of general game could be seen nearly everywhere such as zebras, impalas as well as wildebeests

Image

Image

and also they were located extreme close to the road

Image

Image

Image

so we stayed quite a while with them and simply enjoyed they presence and watched them quite extensively.

Image

Image

To be continued……………..

The steenboks are so pretty. Look as if they are smiling ;-)

Lots of stripes ^Q^ They have the habit of always standing very close to each other \O

What a difference the shorter grass makes, Pumbaa! \O

A nice variety again.

Love the Gyppo goose in flight, plus the steenbok, not so easy! :-0

And cheetah! O:V
