I suspect all is still good as per Roger's last post above. Their roads are better than SA roads.

Sparrow
We have travelled this was many times and prefer it vs ging around especially when staying in south of KNP . My only suggestion as you mentioned low profiles is to watch out for the occasional speed bumps close to the borders and also passing through smaller towns .
The route as per google maps with a stop at Simunye Country club .We also regularly fill up with fuel in Simunye due to it costing less :
Follow N2 and MR8 to MR16 in Lubombo Region, Eswatini
Turn right onto MR16
Turn right onto MR3
Take 2nd Ave and Hornbill Rd to 5th Ave
Simunye Club
QWP9+4QH, Simunye, Eswatini
Take 2nd Ave to MR3
Take MR24 to Rissik St/R571 in Komatipoort, South Africa
Follow R571 to your destination
Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp
Kruger National Park, Gomondwane Rd, 1350
Remember no meat or dairy through the border posts .
