but I guess it must have been around twenty and although we cannot complain about the wild dog sightings we had during our previous trips already
this was one of the very best we so far had. As now after one hour we already stood at that sighting the wild dogs got more and more restless and started to run into the bushes only to appear again so we decided that it was time to carry on as you never know what will appear next.
We then stopped first for a brown snake eagle
saw an elephant herd in the distance and decided to pay the hippo pools as well a visit as we often omit to drive that short stretch. In a bush a couple of Southern white crowned shrikes just landed
and we had a great time in photographing same.
Meanwhile also the sun came out more and more and so we simply could enjoy the view onto the Crocodile river nearly at the end of the road.
Whilst we were admiring the beautiful sausage tree suddenly an African fish eagle landed in same
and whilst another one already landed somewhere in the riverbed in the distance soon its buddy followed same. At least the one fish eagle was willing to stay a while and allowed a couple of shots.
We carried on and along the S25 a couple of warthogs appeared at a spot where the grass was not that long any longer
and then we were stopped by a car who told us something about lions a couple of kilometres further. Normally we always take our time when getting such information and often still stay a while at the sighting we just stood but as this was anyway our direction and the warthogs were meanwhile gone we were happy in finding two male lions lying peacefully close to each other.
