We have just returned from Kruger after another great trip.

We battled with lion sightings, and the ones we did have were far off and not very exciting.

But amazingly, we saw leopard every day (which has never happened to us before) and we had more leopard sightings than lion sightings

...9 sightings in 7 days (a new record for us

), some of which were the best leopard sightings we've ever had!!

Sadly, we didn't find any cheetah or wild dogs.

We did see some rhino at the start of the trip which was great, as we didn't see any on our last trip.
This year's trip was from 20 October - 26 October, with 2 nights at Lower Sabie, 2 at Satara, and 2 at Skukuza. We booked the river tents at Lower Sabie, which have a lovely view, but the tent is very basic and not very nice, and every single door handle, light switch, and tap had been installed back to front/upside down!

In Satara, we had a perimeter unit, which had recently been renovated and was very nice.

We haven't stayed at Skukuza in ages because it's so busy, but we decided to give it another go because we do enjoy the routes around there, but we didn't have much luck this time.
We left Joburg at about 4.30 on Sunday, and after a quick and easy drive, we arrived at Malelane gate at about 8.30. Not long after entering, we found a very pregnant hyena on the H3.
We then decided to take the S114 and the S118 loop as leopard had been spotted along the way the day before. On the S118, we found about 4 lions across the river, but they were far away and not moving.
This hornbill was having fun with elephant dung.
