Ok,
some more about this.
Serval sent me two pics of Babalala (one shown here and another one where you can see left ear)
If you look at Mavatsani's tusks they are more straigth , right tusk of Babalala is more upwards curving.
In the tip of Babalala's right tusk is a grass notch , not in Mavatsani's, just a little "damage"
Babalala has different notches in both ears, even right ear some remarkable ones , not in the ears of Mavatsani.
This is the reason I mainly ask for larger format pictures to see the details , as you know RP....kind of CSI :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

In general is happens more often that two or more tuskers are almost look alikes , so I made a mistake myself with Machachule and Nkokodzi. Last one I saw south of shingwedzi during last trip in may and was convinced it was Machachule , details made the difference but they are almost twin brothers , both not that big bulls but impressive tusks...

You can find all named tuskers of Kruger NP in these documents. 1 for North KNP, 2 for Central KNP and 3 South KNP

Documents are updated per october 4th 2011.

Driving from Mopani to Letaba I found this named Tusker (NGODZI)

Great to see this tusker again and new for me : He was now close to Letaba, just several km’s from Letaba camp. All other sightings so far were near Mopani, mainly Mooiplaas waterhole.

Hi all
For tuskermites maybe interesting to see the how big Tusker MAC made his moves in Kruger...
MAC has a collar and is tracked and traced by Save the Elephants organization. I got a report with many numbers and satelite views on all their elephants with a collar.

Just added a new Tusker to the site. His name is SHISHA (named after little spruit near Babalala) where he has been photographed. I received pics of him end of 2010 and since no other entries till a few weeks ago. Time to add this one, with clear pics of all sides. Special with him, the left ear with a few larger notches and many very small one... ragged

Just had a look at him, but this bull is not a named tusker.
Difficult to judge length of the tusks, so I downloaded the picture for my database.
