The employees have embarked on an illegal strike that led to the closure of nature reserves under the management of the agency. The entity will urgently approach the South African Police Service to enforce the court order for the operations to be restored.
Mpumalanga Tourism last week reported disruptions in operations at several nature reserves under its management due to an illegal strike action by employees.
MTPA spokesperson Simphiwe Shungube said at the time that the affected nature reserves are the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserves (God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck potholes and Drie Rondawels), the Manyeleti Nature Reserves and the Loskop Dam Nature Reserves.
He apologised for the inconvenience this strike has caused to tourists and local communities.
