Floods Reveal Scandals in Kruger NP Staff Villages
Re: Floods Reveal Scandals in KNP Staff Villages
We have been begging and pleading for years for the abuse of camps, roads and gates to be attended to. Back in the days when KNP was hit by robberies and we all knew it was inside jobs we expressed our concern about the staff villages. I personally wrote to the Head of Sanparks Mr. Mabunda when we had what appeared to be street children and tramps going through our bins at Skukuza and Lower Sabie. The reply I was given was that they were searching for material to recycle in school projects. Many of us believe that the free access to staff camps and roads at night has given rise to a whole bunch of undesirables living in the Park who have no right to be there but a blind eye has been turned and it has been allowed to continue unabated - maybe they will sit up and do something now or else public scrutiny might very well be their undoing!

Penny, let's not forget, staff are entitled to visitors, family bonding
etc.............We cannot deny these employees that priviledge!!!
Now under the umbrella off good governance that means we can just
reap???

Ja, Penny!
You and others have spoken about this problem, and it is a "no-brainer" as one may say.
Ironic that nature has taken its course to reveal this mess, eventually!
And no holes barred here anymore!
Sp must reply, and I myself am sick and tired of lack of responsibility!
No more being polite!

Re: Floods Reveal Scandals in KNP Staff Villages
Which camps were these found in RP?
What is disappointing is these camps are small communities with possible exception of Skukuza which is bigger. Why are the rest of staff not reporting these things to their line managers? The only reason I can think of is because they are aware that it is sanctioned or protected from higher up.
Which newspaper is going to run with story?

Hello, Robert!
At the moment no paper can run with the story, although more than one has applied for further info...maybe the DEA will reply one day!?
Let's see!
Skukuza is the main culprit, but not the only one by any means!

Surely this is a SanParks management issue, how the heck can Mabunda pass the buck by saying the DEA must respond, that is totally ridiculous and once again demonstrates the current management team's ineptitude at running our parks and makes their efforts at curtailing rhino poaching a joke. Unauthorized people in staff villages = poached rhino.
Surely Dr Mabunda must be held accountable for his actions or non-actions in managing our parks.

Man was placed in charge and given the duty of caring for all creation, are we doing it?

As always "bad" things come to light when "bad" things happen
