I've never seen a pic of an elephant going to town on a car like that! O-/

Looks like it rolled at speed...just my opinion... -O-

I tend to agree with you. ;-)

Probably swerved to miss the ellie, went wheels up and the next car found the ellie close to them and just assumed. -O-

An elephant stood in the road early this morning, when a Hyundai came rolling past,
fast if you must ask.

Only an opinion,

Miracle that they survived the crash / roll. The elies can be aggressive near Punda with too many people walking in the road.

Just wonder where the accident happened. To get to H1-7 from Punda Maria in less than 30 minutes is possible but not much further south than Magamba water. :-?

Just read it was near Babalala about 40 km from Punda. That gives you an average speed of 80 km/h plus minus 20 km/h give you a max of 100 km/h and min of 60 km /h. O/ O/ O/
Kruger Park elephant tramples Chinese tourist

The vehicle in which two Chinese tourists were traveling was overturned by an elephant in the Kruger National Park on Monday.

15 April 2013

An elephant overturned a vehicle carrying two tourists of Chinese origin near the Babalala picnic spot, on the H1-7 tar road between Shingwedzi and Punda Maria in the Kruger National Park (KNP) around 06:30 on Monday.

The driver (male) sustained injuries and a helicopter, local doctor and paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident to attend to him immediately.

“It is not clear yet of why the elephant turned aggressive however we would like to appeal to the public to always be on the look-out for these huge animals and try not to get too close whenever they see one approaching on the road, " said the KNP’s Head of Communications and Marketing, William Mabasa.

The tourists slept over at Punda Maria Camp on Sunday night and were scheduled to sleep-over at Mopani Camp on Monday.

The injured driver was taken to Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital for further assistance. More details are still being verified.
