Just doing a bit of spindoctoring here, but isn't SP fencing with the fact that they are winning the war because many more arrests has been made this year?

If I multiply 78 x 3 I only get 234 arrests at the end of the year and that is way less than last year.

Right.
There are a few more poachers shot in the KNP than last year, but in the rest of the country quite a few less.
So that evens things kind of out.

Yep.

We are loosing the war bigtime here. O/ O/ O/

You cannot gauge success on the number of arrests or poachers killed, you gauge it on the number of animals killed. If that number increases there is NO success!! 0-

Total success will be when the number of poached Rhino is ZERO!!!

It's like 1+1, bloody basic grade one math! 0=

I really wish they would report the number of successfully concluded prosecutions, with sentences meted out. Now THAT may prove a deterrent! 0()

Or not.

I think the reason why they do not post it is because they do not get many convictions oit of the few they manage to apprehend.

I will ask around for some stats. \O
