I am sitting on a quay with no boats in sight overlooking a large lake. Not too far off hippos are at play. Would you like to join me for OY watching the sun set over the lake. Hope it will not be too much of a mission to get here.

Its not in the Cape and not a lagoon. Its a Lake and close-by is a plane wreck from which the name derives of the Bay. I still need to Google the history, but think its a WW2 story.

Its an Emzemvelo park in Northern Natal.

I've just read the story and its a interesting one. This park is more than 100 years old so its conservation and war in one.

RP It is the southern section of iSimangaliso Wetland Park near Cape Vidal, but I am not siting at the camp.

The water is calmer and during WW2 sea planes would have landed close by to where I am sitting.
