Re: Pictures of Mapungubwe
mposthumus,
Lovely pics of Mapungubwe and the Klipspringer pic is outstanding. I'll be visiting the park in 4 days and thursday I will be staying at Vhembe camp. Great to see a pic of the camp. The volume of water in the Limpopo river is very high. During our last visit in July 2007 you could see more of the riverbed than the actual river. See my version below.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Pictures of Mapungubwe
Thank you all for your kind comments!
4 to 6 April 2011
Bushveld Jock, in contrast to the Limpopo river in flood
the parallel running Sashi river was almost completely dry
The kitchen
with adjacent braai area
and memorable evenings by the fire
Conference Facilities (at that stage still unfurnished and not in use)
Hope you have a wonderfull stay.

Re: Pictures of Mapungubwe
Do you have any details on the conference facility? Like when it was built, what it is supposed to be used for and by whom?
It certainly looks nice....and also the rest.

Lismod, I might just give you incorrect info  but will find out from my brother. He knows the history and his daughter who studies architecture, did an assignment on Mapungubwe.

Re: Pictures of Mapungubwe
Just another comparison with mposthumus. My pic was taken in October 2011. Note the dry tree in the lapa area compaired to the green tree in the pics before. It seems as if the best time to visit Mapangubwe will be from Feb - April
