Hi Lis, that photo was taken on the H4-1 between Skukuza and Lower Sabie.

It was dry, hey?

We had actually seen the Big 5 by the time we got to Lower Sabie. It was very dry!

We checked in at Lower Sabie and enjoyed the view from our tent for a while.


This Natal Spurfowl was having a dust bath nearby.


For our afternoon drive we just headed down the H4-1 and back again.

On the way back, when it was quite dark already, we found 3 cubs in thick bush, but only managed these two bad pics.

Every single herd of elephants we saw had some tiny babies.
Even the small family groups of 5 or 6 cows had assorted sized youngsters plus one or two new borns
As discussed elsewhere on the Forum, there is an elephant population problem
