It was definitely not easy to choose any shots from that sighting as we took so many so I am a bit sorry when I start to bore you

Image

but we simply could not be stopped as now also the pups had enough from resting

Image

and were again in the mood for some more nonsense under the stretchful eye of one of the adults

Image

Image

who soon had been involved in their game.

Image

The game got a bit wilder and also dust started to raise

Image

Image

Nevertheless we had such a wonderful time around the wild dogs so that we once again forgot time but as it was still early in the morning there was no need to look at the clock and got concerned about any gate closing times.

Image

Image

Although there was meanwhile a regular come and go of cars but luckily the wild dogs did not care about the metal things around them so either older ones

Image

as well as younger ones relaxed again after the wild game was over again.

Image

Due to the many wild dogs we never found out how many it were in total as some of them stayed a bit hidden behind bushes

but I guess it must have been around twenty and although we cannot complain about the wild dog sightings we had during our previous trips already

Image

this was one of the very best we so far had. As now after one hour we already stood at that sighting the wild dogs got more and more restless and started to run into the bushes only to appear again so we decided that it was time to carry on as you never know what will appear next.

Image

Image

We then stopped first for a brown snake eagle

Image

saw an elephant herd in the distance and decided to pay the hippo pools as well a visit as we often omit to drive that short stretch. In a bush a couple of Southern white crowned shrikes just landed

Image

and we had a great time in photographing same.

Image

Meanwhile also the sun came out more and more and so we simply could enjoy the view onto the Crocodile river nearly at the end of the road.

Image

Whilst we were admiring the beautiful sausage tree suddenly an African fish eagle landed in same

Image

and whilst another one already landed somewhere in the riverbed in the distance soon its buddy followed same. At least the one fish eagle was willing to stay a while and allowed a couple of shots.

Image

We carried on and along the S25 a couple of warthogs appeared at a spot where the grass was not that long any longer

Image

and then we were stopped by a car who told us something about lions a couple of kilometres further. Normally we always take our time when getting such information and often still stay a while at the sighting we just stood but as this was anyway our direction and the warthogs were meanwhile gone we were happy in finding two male lions lying peacefully close to each other.

Image

to be continued..................

The wild dogs never stay still for long, so they are always nice to watch, especially if pups are among them.

More lions! :O^ lol

Those dogs are either sleeping or hyperactive, Pumbaa! lol

Ja, the spot at Hippo Pools is very scenic!

Those shrikes are also not easy to photograph sometimes! [O]
