Lucky with rhino sightings O/\ , the last few trips we have battled to find many :-(

Nice SBS sighting. O:V We have plenty crested barbets in our garden, but the Cow still photographs them in KNP. =O:

Don’t you dress up to cook PJL O**

S112/S21 – Sjoe a long trek across

Wet wipe ghost =O: =O:

The H4-1 produced more cats O\/ Wow, I know that log and have pics of lions on it, good pics still at that distance. ^Q^ ^Q^ Do you use a 1.4 or 2x teleconverter

Nice sighting of the Lions playing on the dead tree ^Q^
Yep it was great to see so many of them that day Dindingwe as some days we really battled \O

Haha... we get black-collared barbets here but I still take pics of them in Kruger =O: =O:
I've got a 1.4x converter so it ends up being about 560mm on a full frame. Those pic are then cropped a bit as that log is quite a distance away

What a day again! Big 5 repeated, and on top a lot of other interesting stuff too!
I love that fluffy saddle-bill youngster.

Great capture of the fish eagle too O:V

And I admire you patience waiting to use a skottel. We'd be always afraid of missing out, when spending too much time at a picnic spot lol
That's basically why we ALWAYS eat in the car while travelling or parking at a waterhole (or at the camp waterhole). O**

Thanks Flutts, it was good to see the lions with cubs but they were quite a long way away 0:

Thanks Pumbaa, we had quite a lot of good bird sightings this time round, but still not quite up to your standards ;-) lol

Hey Mel, yep we couldn't believe it was another Big 5 day - our second ever :-0
Believe me I would prefer to be sitting at a waterhole or some sighting rather than skotteling, but the kids don't cope if we don't let them out the car now and then lol

Mon 24th June

Today was moving day - from the one house to another on the other side of Marloth Park. We were packed up in good time and whilst waiting for check-out the resident tortoise appeared and accidentally fell into the waterhole 0*\

Image

Fortunately it got out without issue lol
We also had an ostrich come past to say goodbye O:V

Image

Before leaving I took a couple of pics of one of the slightly strange sights that seemed to be everywhere in Marloth Park while we were there - processionary caterpillars
Overnight when it was cold they would all huddle together...

Image

But once it was warm enough they would start moving in long lines - literally one after the other. They seem to follow the leader's silk thread, but they were everywhere... over the paths, up the walls etc etc

Image

Our first house had been a great place to stay. The next spot was also very nice O:V

Image

Image

One of the best features of the house was that it had a 13m high deck which looks out over the Crocodile River and into Kruger O\/

Image

There are quite a few steps to climb to get up there O** O**

Image

Image

With moving between houses we weren't going to into Kruger itself this day, but we pulled in to Ngwenya Lodge for lunch which was a nice spot overlooking the Croc river O:V

Image

There were some buffalo cruising around and we also had a spotted bush snake in the tree next to us which caused some excitement

Image

Image

Image

We spent the afternoon relaxing back at the new house, getting a nice fire going for cooking supper and enjoying the fantastic view from the deck... we even had some elephant come down to drink across from us O/\
The next day we'd be back in Kruger and I couldn't wait.

I preferred the size and layout of the first house, but the position of the second was way better - much faster to Crocodile Bridge and we were opposite the river so could easily pop down and watch the animals coming and going \O
