We traveled down the H4-1 towards the H12, when a lion head appeared over the edge of the river bank
We waited and soon the pride moved out into the open
The pride was looking down river at a herd of Buffalo, but did not look too interested
Just before the Kruger Tablets there was a herd of Sable and Zebra, we have seen them at this spot for several years.
The rest of the drive to Tshokwane was quiet, after a pit stop, we checked out the sightings board, which indicated there were lions at Kumana dam, so we headed further north..
We arrived to find a large pride of flat lions spread across both sides of the road.
After spending about 30 minutes waiting for something to happen, which never does at that time of day. So we headed back down towards Skukuza. Just after Mazithi dam, there are the new river loops, we saw a couple of cars parked in the loop, looking down at the small pond of water. We pulled up and saw that they were looking at a Heron, as we pulled off Kelly contacted us on the walkie talkie to say he saw a leopards on the far bank.
We pulled back into the loop and there it was.in the distance
With the 500mm lens the Leopard was confirmed
The Leopard disappeared behind some bushes but soon reappeared by climbing the tree
Posing for a few photos …
We even got a smile…
After 5 minutes of posing, the Leopard jumped down and disappeared
