It is amazing how SP announces public participation just once the Festive Season and builders' holiday have started, and gives no precise contact information.

The timing was the same for the Malelane hotel, and actually contravenes recommendations/regulations regarding the implementation of PP processes. Maybe it's different for BARs?

So not sure how /gov money suddenly comes into the equation?

That is only "project cost" and not an annual budget. It does not say when the money is spent and where it comes from.

Toko, even if DEA or other government money is used/rerouted for this nonsense, it remains public money! No private developers!

A small snippet is that there are 5 TOURIST bungalows scheduled for destruction to accommodate this hotel.

The thing is, these bungalows contribute a steady gross income to Kruger of probably close to R1 million annually amongst them, at two thirds occupancy.

Conservatively R5000 per day for 200 days.

To rebuild them, which probably won't happen, would cost the same amount.

Meanwhile, nobody knows what profit the Hotel will eventually make after reclaiming the R200 million input, if ever?

Surely business sense suggests at least stick with what you have?

The worst case scenario would be it goes on like this

1. Conference cntre built
2. Not fully booked, so make it more attractive and have a conference hotel
3. Hotel not fully booked, so make it more attractive and have more facilities for visitors' fun
4. etc
