Re: Lion – Animal of the Month: February 2014
I don't know why there is a belief out there that there are very few lions in the northern region of Kruger . I have found that the Mopani Camp area to be the best Big 5 area in Kruger and lion are included there ...This is a Nursery Pride I came across pre 05h00 in Midsummer at the No entry sign to Sirheni Bush Camp off the S56. I agree that the lions in the Northern Region are true wild lions and are not traffic habituated for example..This lioness was not really happy having me there with her small cubs ..That look was ominous and a noisy camera shutter didn't help!! I wasn't relaxed at all shooting from a beanbag on the open window with the 70-200

Re: Lion
Not the Mapogos at all...they were serious lions and big and mean and full of scars ...These are computer enhanced Lab lions ..carefully cut and paste ...you can see the vegetation around them is all manipulated/deleted/added ..not very well concealed at alldup wrote:Richprins wrote:This email doing the rounds maintains the pic to have been taken in Kruger...

No, nan, they were taken a few years ago. The cub finally decided it would make a nice soft pillow, and fell asleep on it.
