I feel the people should have given these animals more space and not stop almost on top of them.

PICS: 25 Lions create the most epic Kruger memory EVER

These must be the photographs tourists see when they think lions roam the streets of SA...

But in those tourists' defense, these photos showing a pride of 25 lions strolling the S100 road in the Kruger National Park show why South Africa is the most incredible place on Earth.

We couldn't believe our eyes when 15 lions were photographed sipping water side by side at Ingwe Donga in the Kruger a few weeks ago. But our wildest expectations of the best lion sightings were once again exceeded when photos of a pride of 25 in the Kruger was recently shared with Traveller24.

Kruger lover Nico Henning wrote to Traveller24 saying they nearly missed the sighting completely when it occurred in 2012.

"My wife, my daughter and I were leaving from Tamboti early morning on Thursday, 7 July 2012, on the gravel road S100 from Satara to Nwanetsi Picnic Spot," he remembers.

"One vehicle in front of me missed the lions. And at first, both me and my wife missed them too! But my daughter, who was sitting with her back against the right passenger door and looking over to the left, saw the lions from a distance, coming over the hill towards the road...

"I flashed my lights at the vehicle in front of us, who turned back to see what was going on. We then just sat there, waiting for the pride as they were walking in a single line towards the road.

"We counted 25 lions, all females and their cubs, entering the road and then following the road for approximately one and a half kilometres before walking into the bushes again..."

Nico says this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And what has stayed with him was the lions, as well as the Kruger camaraderie. "The guy in the vehicle which I flashed to return, offered to buy me a case of beer."
