Yes, indeed we were impressed exspecially everything went without any scramble around them

Obviously with the right people it works
It was a brilliant morning

They made long breaks between their walk and now also laid down right on the road and even did not get bothered
by the many cars who wanted to see them.
After we now meanwhile spent over an hour with them we finally with heavy hearts left them but this was indeed one of those sightings which will stay forever in your mind – It was magical!
We made a short break in camp and also our car needed a refill and after the very friendly filing station attendant asked whether we had a lovely morning so far we showed him still with enthusiasm our shots from the lions and he indeed could not believe our luck.
As it was quite early and as we wanted to make most of our last day in that area we again drove our magical square around the rivers and bridges and in one of the larger loops leading close to the Sabie the grass and bushes were extreme high and wet from the rain but the birds did not bother and we came across a brown headed kingfisher
and masses of red-billed queleas
who were feeding on the seeds from the long grass.
We carried on but always stopped as more queleas raided that area and with the wet green all around it was simply brilliant
although the road was indeed extreme muddy and slippery but we carried on slowly and so it was no problem at all.

As this is a secret path and not known or better to say driven by other cars we were nearly all alone and so we could concentrate completely and without getting disturbed on our beloved birdies
who somehow got more and more.
Far too soon the loop was finished but there were still for sure more of them along our way and we stopped also for hadedahs in trees,
a very chilled black stork in the river,
hadedahs on the ground
and a large troop of baboons and for sure when the youngsters do the baboon back riding thing
we simply had to stop and look around and observe them.
One even came running and wanted to grab the youngster but mom was not at all amused about that behaviour.
to be continued…….
