At Olifants there wwere a lot of birds that were disturbed by something. I didn't see what it was but one of the birds was a Grey-backed Cameroptera which may be a new one for me!

If it was raining it can only have been lightning, as Alf says or put on by a human(s)

"caught a light" means hit by lightning

Someone on FB mentioned that when they were in Olifants recently their bungalow had faulty wiring. This could cause a fire.
