The lioness stood dead still and waited...

What a rush! :ty: :yes:

The couples can carry on for days, I was at Vutome once and the woman came down just for a drink and a rest in the shade near our car...she couldn't take it anymore...the male didn't even drink in the heat, just watched us forlornly from the bush! =O: 0-

The lionesses are programmed to hunt should any opportunity arise, IMO. (Very instinctive) :yes:

Day 6 – 18th August 2016 (continued)

With the morning excitement, over, we headed back to Skukuza to catch up on some breakfast and a few calls

This being our last day at Skukuza before moving down to Berg en dal, we took an afternoon drive down to the S79 (N’Watimhiri Cswy) and back. The Marabou’s were at the Skukuza dump.

The mating Lion couple were still down by the river as we could see them through the bush and it seemed they were settled for the afternoon, so we continued, only the find the rest of their family a few kilos down.

We stopped for a few Ellie herds and this guy who acted irritated at us for being in his way

At the N’Watimhiri bridge, we spent a few minutes watching a Lion family with cubs, the parents were trying to sleep but the cubs just wanted to play.
