The Expat and crew visit the Bush

Post by JoeKing »

As i dont really like typing much.......

let me give you some high lights.

I will upload pics after lunch, and i'm currently uploading my videos to youtube and will share those.

So this was the trip of 1st time evers for me.....
1st Porcupine.
1st Big cat kill.
1st Cheetah hunt.

So we stayed in the park for 8 nights

First 2 in Pretoriuskop

We entered at Malelane at about 8am, and ofcourse drove to Berg n Dal. From BnD to Afsaal and then to Pretoriuskop.
We stuck mainly to the Tar roads, as our car doesnt seem to like Dirt Roads.

1st day not much.

Day 2, wanted to get to metsel early. Took some pics of the Hippos and drove towards Albasini.
The sun was just up and was shining directly in my eyes and visibility was not great.
I hit brakes and i managed to see a shape in front of me.
Lioness....i dont know who got more of a scare, the lioness leaped out from in front of the car as i hit braked.(crossing left to right)

My heart in my throat,

Weird a lone lioness? I say the the Dutchie sitting in the back of the car, " Mike, just check on your side if there are any more lions", " Nope, nothing"
I check the rearview.......Mr Lion crossing.

we drove to the V in the road and turned right back towards PKOP,

and there is the female. checking before crossing the road this time. She crosses, i switch off and listen for rustling.
I guestimate where to park.
There comes the Male.

The rest of the day was uneventful.
