The city Florence is playing a role in the Ban Brown's book "Inferno" and for sure in the movie and so when I do see the silhouette of the city the book is coming to my mind

Pumbaa is correct. A lot of the book is set in Florence and certain things happen at well-known landmarks. Actually, the Duomo is not in the book but its Batistry is.

Re: A Month in Bella Italia
The next day the Brat moved into his student accommodation. It was a two bedroom apartment about a 5 minute walk from the university.
20 Via dei Pepi.
Here you can see one bedroom on the left, the kitchen on the right and the dining room in the foreground.
The bedroom.
It wasn't a bad apartment but he was sharing with 3 other guys! There was an empty lounge so there was no where to sit except the dining room table. He shared a bedroom and a tiny bathroom with 2 of the guys. He was the first to arrive so chose the best bed which was slightly apart from the other two and even had a sofa on his side of the room. The 4th guy had the other bedroom to himself as he had paid for a single room. His 3 flatmates all came from India. One of them was doing the same course as the Brat and they became quite good friends. There weren't many windows in the apartment, and only a skylight in his room, and the Brat started feeling quite claustrophobic.
When he returns (next week ) he's sharing an apartment with a girl from Amsterdam, who he has made good friends with. We are paying slightly less than we were paying for the student accommodation, he will have his own bedroom and bathroom, and they can invite friends over whenever they want, which they weren't allowed to do in the student digs. And if we, or friends, visit, we can stay with him and not have to pay for extra accommodation!! It is nice and modern with big windows, and it's still only about a 5 minute walk to varsity, so definitely a bargain!!
The Great Synagogue of Florence or Tempio Maggiore is one of the largest synagogues in South-central Europe.
One of 4 flights of steps to my apartment in Florence! There were over 60 stairs in all!!

Aha!
Nice accommodation deal, Flutts. Not sure if Brat wants his address on the internet?
Steps are the best exercise ever!

Not only were there 60 steps, but they were quite high too. Luckily there was a bench halfway up

RP, that was his last address, so no problems.
Student accommodation always costs more. He did get 5 food vouchers a week which he could use at the school restaurant, but now at least he can cook his own food more comfortably. He found it quite difficult to find time to cook with another 3 people also wanting to use the kitchen.

Re: A Month in Bella Italia
I guess - the own apartment is the far better deal although must say that the student appartment is not looking bad it is simply quieter and as you said you can invite friends
