Re: Rhino Poaching 2013
Very soon the Rhino numbers will be so low SANParks will be able to afford to post a permanent ranger to watch over each individual rhino. (And even then I have my doubts) I saw a good bumper sticker recently... "The dried testicles of Rhino Poachers can cure AIDS!" (Maybe we should spread the word)

Re: Should AW Oppose the Skukuza Hotel?
I don' think I need say where I stand on this subject. For crying out loud they can't manage what they already have effeciently what makes them think adding more is going to make any difference. Oh wait, that's right, it won't be SANParks responsibility because it is being managed by their partner ...

Re: To Intervene or Not
Hmm... Sounds like it might already be too late. :-( I've laways been one to say let nature take it's course, but that was always in response to an animal being killed by another and other such disturbing images/occurences. I believe that should an animal be suffering, whether the cause be natural ...

Re: Gallery of Shame
Please gentleman wait. Put down your burning torches. I think if we stand back we can see that it is obvious what is happening here. This kind gentleman, at great risk to himself, decided to don a rather ridiculous outfit and exit the safety of his vehicle in order to stun the wildlife so it did not ...

Re: Concerning new "Survey" from SanParks
Sensless survey indeed. Sat there answering most of the questions; Not important at all. I don't care if I see a specific animal or not. And it would definately ruin it for me if the challenge of searching for the animal myself was taken out of the equation. Typical modern way of thinking, have ...

Re: Taxi Busted for Various Offences By Tourist in KNP
Oh no, don't get me wrong, I still think we should be doing what we have been doing. I just wish SP wouldn't be such ....'s about it. Keep up the good work AW members \O . Grow up SP 0= . - All comments made about SP are my own opinion and should not be deemed as being those of the greater AW group ...

Re: Taxi Busted for Various Offences By Tourist in KNP
Time for a bit of follow up on the incident. It seems that the KNP staff at the gates reception are upset with me. Normally I would be greeted with big smiles and some casual chat, well none of them want to speak to me. 0*\ They must have been taken to task about what happened. To them I apologise ...

Re: Controversial rezoning approved
I don't recall being confused about environmental issues, maybe commercial and social, but not environmental. SANParks better watch out that they don't slip up and get sued for defamation of character."...no amount of confused environmental activism from whomsoever..."

Re: Your Most.......Moments in the Wild
Not quite a :o0ps: moment for me but for my mum. We were staying in Skkuza, and due to a bit of overbooking we ended up in the handycapped rondawel. Nicely spaced for obvious reasons and with a ramp up to the stoep (veranda, for the non-afrikaans). Anyway, after a great dinner we caught an early ...
