and also the zebras were thirsty.
Normally these waterholes are abandoned when we do visit them isn February with a couple of larger elephant bulls around but today all the animals in that area came to have a drink there.
At least for us it was interesting to see how it must be in winter when all the water in the veld got less and less but for sure prefer to see the park in February lush and green again.
As usual we always drive the detour to Mooiplaas waterhole where today an openbilled stork was searching for something to eat in the small pond along the road.
Also the short road from the waterhole to the tar road was favoured by lots of animals as we spotted tsessebes, buffaloes and zebras.
Some of the buffaloes were very muddy
and it was a large herd
and then for sure it is always stunning when the rarer antelopes do come across – That area normally do not let us down when it comes to tsessebe sightings
although these staring eyes can be a bit scary.
