Since the Brat is studying Film and Photography, he now knows how to use his camera properly and only shoots on Manual and was keen to teach me. It took me the full five days to learn all the ins and outs, but I think my photos did get better as the trip progressed.

For shooting blind your photos aren't bad at all! Actually, there are people out there who don't take photos as good as those -
and that is WITH looking

And you thought of a food pic for the RP too.

Next time, maybe I could get a caracal?

Thanks Mel. Those pics were taken with the Point and Shoot so slightly easier to use when you can look through the lens. A caracal....still on my wish list!!

Yes, we could see the lions through the windscreen! Was very chuffed with the Pytilia...and waxbill.

Nice pics of the Squirrel & not bad pics of the lions even though you could not get a clear view by the angle . Thats why we refer to some sighting as scrums the cars all have lined up scrumming for position . If we spot those we normally u-turn and find the nearest loop around

Thanks for popping in PRWIN. I've always shot in RAW but usually in AV mode so it was a first shooting in manual.

I was so occupied looking at the squirrel, that I missed your Green-winged Pytilia (even with a blue waxbill ) Well spotted and it's even a great photo

It is tagged as : Common Resident, but that does not mean that it is easy to find

Green-winged pytilia is common in Kruger from South to North, but you don't see it perched on a tree, usually only drinking or feeding on the ground.

Have you chased it onto the tree?

It was just sitting there with lots of waxbills...maybe it was confused as to what it actually was!
