There are also in other parts of the park in summer open areas where the view is a bit better but we somehow never had luck in spotting anything there /ou/

I couldn't agree more! The light suits the jackals and the zebras particularly well lol
This light is always the best but also means that normally the day is getting hot <hot>

Everything looks completely different when the sky is darker or even it is raining compared to that sunny shots \O

Normally that area it completely quiet when we so far drove that road but today it was completely different and we even spotted more elephants

and in the background on the right side you may get an impression how many of them we saw as nearly behind each bush at least one elephant was hiding

but we also discovered giraffes.

A nice stop on that road is always at Grootvlei and as if we had not seen any elephants yesterday evening at Mooiplaas and that morning along the S50 all remaining Kruger elephants were hanging around Grootvlei.

First we decided to park on the dam wall and enjoyed the view with lots of fallen trees

and the spectacle of the bathing elephants from there but before we could concentrate completely onto the elephants a grey heron had to be captured.

When we arrived we were the only car at that dam and we enjoyed simply everything

lots of breeding herds were around as well as lone bulls and all enjoyed to play submarine.

Meanwhile we decided to leave the dam wall and drove to the area where you can park the car to get closer to the edge of the dam
