From Floods and Surprises in River beds

You were lucky to see the leopards in the long grass!

We were extreme happy that there were not that many cars so you could always drive a bit backward or forward

You were lucky to have the sun on the Red Rocks road. Everything is much more beautiful. It is a lovely road

Totally right - The more we do drive this road the more we fell in love with same and as you said in the sun everythings looks so much brighter

Tshange toilets can be a bit rough, Pumbaa!

Adult leopards are, to me, one of the most beautiful animals on Earth, but their cubs take top prize. So happy you had such a wonderful experience to share with all of us.

I second that and we were so extreme and are still that happy with that sighting

Just a stunning sighting

It was and whenever we nearer this place now I always say to Timon this was where we saw the leopard plus cub last year

At least whilst carrying on the tar road not leaving out any loop we spotted relatively close a fish eagle in the shade on a branch

Another visit at the Shingwedzi causeway was then a must as well and again a pair of saddle billed storks

as well as a hamerkop

The saddle billed storks were fishing and also uncountable crocodiles had piled up on the side of the causeway where the water still came down quite strongly.

For sure we turned around and captured altogether from the other side and then we took a longer break in camp as we were still thrilled with our leopard sighting that day.

Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, however, we were ready for our final afternoon drive this year which leaded us along the S50 until Kaniedood but again a final visit on the Shingewdzi causeway had to be – A grey heron as well as a great white egret now joined the other birds

and somehow they all posed nicely even together with many the crocodiles.

Also a marabou stork was now around and same was busy with cleaning its feathers,

and our final afternoon in the park and after a while we had to drag ourselves away to at least travel a bit along the S50.

You are lucky that you seem to regularly get the feeding frenzy over the years, Pumbaa!

It is really amazing!

You must scrutinise whether you can see that they are waiting for fish coming upstream or downstream!

The Shingwedzi causeway is a wealth when it comes to waterbird sightings. I think I saw 6 different ones, when I was there but no crocs
